Veritas Whiskey and Wine

Celebrated my husband's birthday with lunch here on a Thursday afternoon. The owner and the servers took great care of us! The prohibition cocktails were delightful, and they have a wide selection of top shelf spirits. We especially enjoyed the variety of small plates on offer. The food was excellent in both taste and presentation. We can't wait to return!

Veritas means truth, and the truth is this place is a gem! Diverse and high quality menu of appetizers and entrees, extensive wine and spirits list, and a great vibe that blends high end special occasion with every day approachable. If you're a bourbon fan, ask if the owner is available to talk and you'll walk away with a new favorite! Will absolutely be back.

Run, don't walk, to this new dining and imbibing establishment in Prairefire! My husband and I landed here today for an anniversary brunch. Our waiter, Buck, and the owner, Rolf, were welcoming and warm. The service was perfect and the food even better! Lots of talent went into the design of the space and the menu. The photo is the Roasted Tomato Eggs Benedict. We are definitely going to visit again to try a Paella for two and again for a wine and small plates Happy Hour.

Stopped by for Brunch today and had the amazing Crab Benedicts! I was apparently the first to order them and will be recommending them to everyone! They just started having Brunch available and everything on the menu sounded wonderful. Not pictured is the Jerk Chicken Sandwich with fries off their regular menu which was also delicious. Will be back to try more!

My wife and I had just finished dinner at a nearby restaurant and were killing a little time before we needing to pick our daughter up from a birthday Party. We were driving through PrairieFire in Leawood, KS which was close and noticed a bar that had both indoor and outdoor seating, so we zipped into the parking garage and made our way to Vertias . Little did we know that the place not not actually open, they had been having a training event / VIP night for friends and family and we just barged in on them. 😳. Once we entered the few people at this establishment had given us some funny looks and the Owner came to Greet us. He explained what was going on and that they were not actually open but would be on July 13th. Feeling very embarrassed we immediately apologized and started for the door, but that’s when he stopped us and kindly offered for us to stay try some of the wines. He we so Gracious and very knowledgeable about wine. He told us about the space and how they came to be. He continued to be extremely hospitable and polite even through we had just barged in unannounced to this training event. Well about an hour later we left having tried a few excellent wines and can’t wait to go back once it finally openes! If you are looking for a great wine and or whisky bar I high recommend Vertias.
