Let me start by saying; love the Shawnee location and utilize the drive thru often. The food is fresh and I usually order our favorite, the Pacific Island salad, on 8/14/21 I got 2 PI salads and was disappointed. So today I went in with my receipt to discuss my issue. I spoke with Christen who was more than happy to resolve my issues with a smile! She replaced my 2 PI salads and I was thrilled. Christen provides great customer care and Hawaiian Bros are lucky to have her. Thank you Christen!
The place is relatively new (opened in April of 2021, it is now July) so I wanted to go a few times before reviewing.
The first few times I could tell employees were still training because portions were small.
The food has always been delicious, so that’s never a disappointment. However they have gotten additional management or training that is simply exceptional. They are always very fast, and rarely (if ever) is there a line. It is usually very busy, which is no surprise, but I have never had to wait for my food for more than a couple of minutes tops.
This last time I went I was especially pleased because a supervisor was attentive enough to ask us for our opinion and admitted that as a newish location they are still smoothing things out. If this person goes up the ladder the future of the company will definitely keep thriving.
Once home, the food was visibly beautiful, and of course the taste was delicious as usual.
If you came here before and had a not-so-great experience I do recommend giving it another shot given that things have started running more smoothly and the portions are gigantic (especially on the large). To give an idea, my very tall (6’4”) very husky husband will usually eat three-ish meals out of one large plate. It’s mostly rice, chicken, veggies, and pasta (along with other sides you can add) and our kids are always excited to come here. It is a winner for us.
I can't say enough good things about Hawaiian bros and I was so happy when I saw this one pop up right down the street from my house! I love the food... it's always fresh, just the right amount of heat in the spicy dishes and all of the choices are extremely flavorful, there is also the very generous portions and, the staff is always friendly. As someone who works a weird schedule I love this locations extended hours so that is an added bonus for me!
I have been to other Hawaiian Brothers locations so I was really looking forward to having one closer. This location's initial opening had incredibly long car lines with police directing traffic. We waited until the hype had passed to check it out and were there after the dinner rush.
First impression, looks good on the outside, surprised upon entering - screen ordering only? Multiple people touching the same screen? No food visible?
We enjoy interacting with employees of an establishment so we thought of going elsewhere but most of our party of 4 had never been to an Hawaiian Brothers so they decided to stay and give it a try. We couldn't find a way to remove the rice and mac and cheese from the meal so we took the meals as is and added vegetables and pineapples. Although the screen indicated we could pay, it wouldn't take our payment so we paid at the oddly dark, small counter area; the majority of the space is light and airy.
We appreciated the unique drink offerings.
The food came out quickly, at the right temperature and everything was flavored well though some pieces of chicken were charred. The eating area is open with large windows on the East side of the building; allowing for natural indirect afternoon light.
Overall, the experience didn't leave us with a desire to return.
Love Hawaiian Bros!!!
