Great lunch. Brisket tacos were very unique. Others in our group ordered prime rib and steaks, which all looked fantastic. Appetizers took over 30 minutes to come out (not a big deal to us) but management came out and said they would be comped for the wait. Definitely unnecessary, but a great example of going above and beyond for your customer. Will return!
We went for Father's Day so I can say it was very busy. A little more noisy than usual I imagine. The food was outstanding. The beef was topnotch. Sides were plentiful, horseradish was perfect traditional We had the KC strip and prime rib. The service was good in as much as they always made everything right. There was a lot of mistakes though. They got my wife's two sides wrong. Replaced them though. Clearly our order sat for too long and was less than piping hot. The "loaded" baked potato was not really loaded, especially for an expensive steak house. All in there was less than two tablespoons of cheese, bacon, and sour cream. The pricing was strange too. They did not have a surf and turf option. You are forced to buy the 6 oz lobster tail a la carte which means the price of a third meal without the meal. Her main course ran better than 70 bucks. They advertised free dessert for Father's Day and we ordered that as well as the soup to take home. Turns out the dessert we wanted was not on the list of free dessert so that was another 9 bucks. She did offer to give me another free dessert from the list to take home and when we broke into it later I had two carrot cakes. Oh, and they didn't honor the daily special so we paid full price for the prime rib. When you step back it looks like the negatives outweighed the positives. The food was so good I might be willing to take that one hour drive again.
I had looked forward to Hereford House since my visit in 1999 as a kid to the original. Kansas strip was split between two. Sides are good. But, steak was mostly fat and grissel. Decent taste, but just not what I remember. The service was just fine. Not spectacular as I recall.
2nd restaurant week dining. Hereford House off Midland & 435 is conveniently located with plenty of private parking. Promptly seated and drinks promptly served. Great 'restaurant week' menu with the steakburger being my favorite. This isn't your fast food dining, so had to wait awhile for the burger, but the result was a juicy(not too juicy) very delicious and per the pic(s) a hearty burger. $15 for burger, fries & fudge brownie (+2.50 for iced tea), this was a very positive experience. Shout-out to Israel for his attentive service.
