I’m visiting Kansas for work, ended up staying in Lincoln KS to be closer to my project. Stayed in downtown and found Frankie’s, everyone was very welcoming and great small town feeling! I got the chicken fried steak plate and it was delicious! The owner was very nice, I recommend this place 👍🏼

We have eaten at this location a few times. It is located in downtown Lincoln and is historical building, handicap parking is available right in front. Handicapp entrance is available upon request, if you can't come in, just give them a call, they will come and help. They offer take out and curb side pick up, inside the dinning room is spacious, bathrooms are clearly marked. They have brand new black silverware and it's gorgeous. If you have rambunctious children they have an area you can pretty private seating if you ask. The menu has recently been update and it has a wonderful selection of items. My favorite is the sweet fire chicken my mom's favorite is the biscuits and gravy but my kids love the buttermilk chicken. They have a nice selection of alcohol, local beers and more, customer service is always so nice there, happy people, I think it's all family working there. The bakery always has a nice selection muffins especially, they do beautiful cake custom orders, brown butter banana cheesecake bread is the biggest family favorite, but they make almost anything you want.
Nice to have a place to visit that has so many options in town.

I love this little place! Went in for brunch today and got a chance to look over the new menus and it looks fantastic! We got the country fried steak meal and a breakfast sandwich and both plates were large portions and DELICIOUS. The homemade gravy and biscuits were some of the best I've ever had. We ordered iced coffees with our meals and they were absolutely perfectly sweetened. Very clean, very friendly place with the small town vibe I love. It really feels like they genuinely care about your food and your experience. 10 of out of 10 across the board!

***note****This is a different restaurant than the reviews that are before February 2021. They moved to Lincoln Kansas from their old location in Butte, Montana. They have a different menu, different location, etc.

We had a bad experience the first time coming for dinner, so we gave it a couple more tries, including brunch. The timing was better, but the things that were wrong, stayed about the same.

The owners (male at front desk area and amazing chef in back) and their mother, who is in most the time are kind, friendly, helpful, and remember most guests. It is a good hometown feel. They always have smiles. The other waitress is not helpful, slightly rude, and seems like she has no experience. I feel confident enough about this opinion. That I am not afraid for her to see this. Their business would do much better without an employee like that.

When we were served by the owners, our drinks were filled and are plates were cleared quickly. When we were served by the other woman, we had to ask a few times for refills. And were never checked on. I had water, but husband had Coke.

Prices are a little high. Cheapest is about $8 and some dishes are getting close to $20 a plate.

Tables are tiny, and do not fit all the condiments and extras+the food.

The portions seem small to me for the price. Specifically the nachos. Except their sandwiches. They are HUGE and there is no good way to eat it. You just have to break it up and eat with a fork.

They have a signature Bean cheese dip mixture that is on most things. I think it is yummy.

The green salsa is lacking in flavor, and they have no other salsa or Pico options.

The silverware needed to be cleaned better.

Some dishes were burnt. Like the chips and the Texas toast.

The dishes look pretty, but are unrealistic for eating. The soft tacos are piled on eachother, the burgers slop all over, and the cajun chicken sandwhiches are huge and bottom is soggy.

Salads were fine. Just a bag of mixed salad from the store, and you can see them filling the salad dressing cups with a great value bottle of ranch from the cooler.

Food is slow to come out. It has improved since first opening of course. Appetizers and meal come out at the same time, so there is no use in ordering an appetizer. They need to make separate tickets for the chef for appetizers vs. Meals.

Busquits were cut out squares like a sheet busquit, gravy was pretty good. Eggs were cooked to perfection, but had no salt/pepper, which is easy to add.

Overall it was messy, pretty good flavor, but overpriced. We will probably not go again. It's about $50 with the tip and drinks each time we go for my husband and I. For that, we will go to town to a nice restaurant. Owners are great, and I tried it a few times because of that, but the negatives outweigh the positives for me personally. I've heard a lot of other people say they love it.

If their prices lowered by 10-20% and they got a new waitress, we'd go back regularly.

0/5 accessibility ♿️ good parking, but there were steps and inconvenient doorway entrance. Would be near impossible with a wheelchair, very difficult for a walker, and completely impossible for a motorized wheelchair.

2/5 Baby friendly. No kind of table or changing station or anything like that in the bathroom. They do have highchairs available.

*in the response to this review the owner has given understandable explanations. please note I have never ordered food to go, so I'm not sure who the owner is thinking of, but that was not us.

I was skeptical about the high rating until I ate the food. It is an unassuming little cafe with great home style Mexican/country style food. I had the chilequiles, and it was fantastic. My wife had the Montana tacos and she really enjoyed them.
