Blue Hook Cajun Seafood & Bar

First I need to explain I have a 5 year old son that is on the spectrum. Our waitress, Sarah, went above and beyond helping us. Never have I ever had someone so kind and helpful. My son was having a hard time with the live music and wanted to sit at the front by the entrance and watch the water on the floor. Sarah brought my son a cup of cherries and even help us to move out to the patio for my son to be more comfortable. I will specially request her every time we go there.

I tried this place for the first time with my two children. We all were very happy with the service and the food. Everything tasted fresh. It was reasonably priced for the amount of food we got. We all went home very happy and will definitely be coming back.

Started with the veggie egg rolls, delicious!
Tried the fried catfish, shrimp & chicken tenders with sweet potato fries. Everything was seasoned well & delicious. The chicken was a bit greasy, but still good. Hubby got the shrimp po-boy & its was alright. Not the greatest, but good. Their sweet tea is top notch! Sorry, I forgot to take pictures.

The hours on the website are incorrect. We arrived at 4:00 pm and found many people sitting in their cars. We called to ask if they were open and were told that they only did takeout from 2:30 to 4:30 and that they would start letting people in for dinner at 4:30. We decided to wait and at 4:30 had to wait in line to get in. Once inside we were greeted and immediately seated in the bar area. Our waitress was very kind, did a great job, and was very attentive. We had a variety of things including the popcorn chicken, boneless wings, hush puppies, and crab puffs. Every thing was great with the exception of the crab puffs, which tasted a little fishy. The waitress took those off the bill for us. The place is very nice inside, we enjoyed the music, and everything came out pretty quickly. We will come back and hopefully they will have some of the new restaurant challenges figured out.

For being a new restaurant I can say the food was really good. Our waiter was polite and as efficient as he could be with the number of tables he was waiting. The bartender was unable to keep up with drink orders and the wait time to be seated was def extended. I think overall the restaurant was under staffed which put a lot of weight on the current staff. I would rate 5 stars if not for the staffing issues. Hope this gets better with time as the food is really good.
