It was to be a wonderful place for dinner...however, my husband booked the reservation and I was impressed. This is not his usual fair. He doesn't get it or understand this cuisine. So, my experience was not as wonderful as it should have been. Wanting my husband to maintain confidence I stayed out of explaining the dishes...allowing the waiter to do his job...but he was uninterested in taking the time to explain what a few dishes were. Therefore, after about 10 minutes for my husband to google the dishes and him to decide we were ready...our waiter proceeded to ignore us though and put in three tables orders ( seated after us) before coming back to us...when we were clearly ready to order..then he ignored us most of the evening. Even then, We were not to impressed with the food quality and the $18 2oz. of cheese, 3oz.salami and bruised grapes with stems, asparagus and sliver apples- sampler came out with a small hair on it...which he (Jake the waiter) quickly removed when I stated, "oh my"! Not taking it away...we just ate around where the hair was...
For dinner I had the Brie and crackers because they were not serving a full menu that evening. The menu stated it was warm or hot...and it was cool enough you had to cut with a knife. I called him over and asked to heat it up..he said he would have to microwave it. Stunned, I said, whatever you have to do to make it right it! All in all, I will give George's another try...my friends enjoy the cuisine and I'm sure it was just a bad night for us.
For Wichita you can’t do better if you like a better choice of dining. The staff and service is great, the decor similar to a Parisian Bistro. The pace of the meal was pleasant. I’m not sure if it’s family owned but the menu is warm and casual but with a touch of class. The garlic escargot were very tasty and I found a new Chard from Lagrange I really enjoyed. The duck was a bit bland with little accompaniments but the butternut squash saved the day as it was really sweet and tasty.
This is a beautiful restaurant with great food. The waiter was very knowledgeable and had good recommendations and had tried the food he was giving recommendations for. There was an amazing fried cheese that accented my salad. I enjoyed the meal but was glad I saved room for the dessert. George's is worth a visit.
The food is absolutely delectable and the service can't be matched. The perfect traditional date night experience. The drink selection is spot on and the desert menu is worth saving room for. Highly recommend!
I ate here about 4 or 5 months ago and the food was absolutely amazing!! It is a bit pricey but well worth it!! Very upscale and yet still casual. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The service was excellent!! One of the best places I have eaten and I would highly recommend it if you're in the area or just want some yummy food with friends and family or it's a great date night spot!!.
