Ruben's Mexican Grill

I've always wanted to checkout Ruben's every time I drove down Douglas. We were happily greeted with a basket of chips and salsa.

The hot salsa was really good! I was happy it wasn't tomato saucy, they added cilantro and additional ingredients to it. The chips were a bit too thick for my liking, but I guess it helped me not eat as much and save room for food food.

I ordered the Create Your Own Lunch: Flour Taco, Tamale, Beef Enchilada. The tamale was probably the best item on the plate. It was topped with chili verde which was really flavorful. The masa and meat inside remained moist, which makes me think they make the tamale batches on the regular.

Nothing seemed temperature hot beside the tamale. The beef enchilada was warm which made the cheese thick. The beef didn't have much flavor. The rice was tasty and cooked perfectly.

Service was excellent and efficient! Ice waters were always filled and the waitress had a welcoming attitude. They work very well as a team to make sure every customer is taken care of.

The restaurant is clean and spacious. The windows bring a lot of natural light in.

The taco and dinner dinner meal was very good. The taco crust was so crispy and light. There is a reason Rubens and Connie's Mexico Cafe have been staples in Wichita. On special occasions you can get a free Sombrero. The house margaritas are so good and the a size you can finish and have more. The staff is constantly making sure drinks are filled and chips and salsa are filled.

Love Reuben’s! The food is good and the staff is great. Everything is consistently good each time we go.

We are in town for a few days and decided to try a different place out today for Cinco De Mayo. We ordered the burrito panco villa, along with a taco dinner. The burrito was a huge burrito filled with pork, beef and cheese. I have to say it was pretty good. The tacos were served on a flour shell and were very crispy a also good. The guacamole was very fresh. Our waitress was very professional the owner even stopped by and checked on us!
