“My wife and I have been several times now for dinner, we also took the family for Sunday brunch. The staff is always friendly and accommodating and I"ve always had good service. I taught the bartender how to make one of my favorite drinks and he improved on it. The food is nothing fancy, but it's good. Just basic comfort food with a couple of twists that make it "homey". Try the "garlic pork bites"! They're nothing fancy, just cubed slices of pork braised in garlic butter. I would NEVER have thought to do that, nor would I have thought I would like them, but OH MY!!! they are GOOD. Their pork tenderloin is tasty, and the chicken-fried chicken is quite good. I had a chicken-fried steak sandwich one evening and it was tough and not so good, so I wrote that one off of my "have again" list. But, I probably should give it another try, not EVERY cut of meat is always perfect. The sides and salads aren't fancy, or very impressive, but that's OK, they don't need to be. The pies are good - they bring them in from KC. My only regret on the pies is that they always seem to be out of the one I really want, but we tend to go late, so that's my own fault. Bottom line: NOT fancy, but comfortable, clean, friendly. That means a lot in these days of "chain" restaurants. I should mention, the prices are very reasonable also. Makes it easy to return on a whim.”
