Gates Bar B-Q

What's Gates Bbq without sauce.... I ordered carry out from out state just to come home , start eating and no sauce.... won't go back to this location.

I went back to let them know about the missing sauce and they fix it and made it right by giving some fresh brisket and sauce.

Don't be afraid to get dirty. Dig right in with a burt end sandwich or a variety of many other meats either on or off a bun. Then you can't forget there hot, thick delicious steak fries. Service is quick and staff are friendly. Atmosphere makes you wanna come back.

Great, as always. I recommend the hottest BBQ sauce they have. I purchased and consumed a Burnt Ends sandwich. It was crispy and the portion size was sufficient. I had enough BBQ sauce, which I had to grab on my own. The place was pretty busy, everyone was yelling, and there were a couple flies going around. If the location and experience in store were better, I would likely give 5 stars. Gates is one of the iconic examples of KC BBQ, and I recommend everyone tries it at least once, regardless of the physical location in KC.

Original Kansas City BBQ. This place has the best flavor. Non of that foo foo yuppy BBQ. If it's your first time coming here, don't be alarmed by their method to take orders. They yell across the restraunt "Hi, how may I help you?" They have a big meat platter called the president tray feeds up to 5 people. I will keep coming to get this original KC BBQ!!

Great BBQ! A little pricey if you get the plate (~$20 per) but the portions are big and the quality is great!
