On our way from Missouri to Colorado we ran into Kansas City around lunchtime and we wanted to stop someplace not far off I 70 for lunch.

Our daughter-in-law found a wonderful little place called GGs Barbacoa.

GGs place serves authentic Mexican fare in a tiny little hole in the wall place. If you're put off by a homey diner that's not much to look at, and by sitting elbow to elbow with the locals at a tiny counter, then I feel sorry for you. You're gonna miss some wonderful food and warm generous hospitality at GG's, not to mention the prices are great.

My wife and I absolutely love this place! We are so happy to see him open up for To-Go orders after everything that's been going on.

Excellent food and service. Stopped in for my first time and was greeted immediately being explained what the most popular dishes were before I even asked! They have images posted above their bar of everything they serve so you have a visual if unsure of what something is. This is a VERY small place, even seating for 2 can be tough. There are no tables, only bar top style seating.
I went with one of their popular dishes being the Enchiladas Casserole which comes with rice and refried beans. Instead of your typical rolled tortilla, they use round corn tortillas and stack everything straight up, and top it with an egg cooked anyway you like. Alongside every dish they serve their own homemade hot sauce, which may not look appealing, but is great! Some sort of mixture of dried chilies and garlic.
Overall great experience, will definitely be back to try more!

This place is fabulous! I almost don't want to share about it to keep it a hidden gem. There are only 15 seats or so in the entire place, so it fills up quickly. The food was great and the owner did a nice job of explaining what was most popular. We tried the chilaquiles w. brisket and enchilada casserole, both were delicious. My youngest had a more traditional American breakfast, but even it looked great. Broadway Roasting Co. coffee too!
