Their slab is consistently the best ever... always falls off the bone and juicy. I prefer their sweet sauce but often don't even need any sauce, the meat is that perfect. And as a bonus, the service has been excellent every single time I go. There will probably be a line to get in, don't be surprised by that, but lately I have been ordering online so I get to skip the line completely.. no extra charge to order online.

Excellent barbecue options at this popular joint. A stingy indoor seating area is supplemented by a larger outdoor eating area and rooftop. The main outdoor area is suitable even in cool weather due to substantial heaters that will keep you toasty warm.

We got the HALF SLAB OF RIBS, which was excellent. Tender and flavorful without the need for sauce, the ribs weren't too fatty and the semi sweet rub could shine.

We got the CATTLEMAN as well to sample the BURNT ENDS (fatty but tender and good tasting), BEEF SAUSAGE (excellent) and BRISKET (good but not outstanding).

We tried several sides. The CHEESY CORN was surprisingly lacking in flavor. It had more than enough salt but was just missing something unexpected to kick it up a notch. The ONION RINGS were crisp and tasted great, and the FRIED CHEESE CURDS were good as well.

The sauces are a good match for the meats and add a nice element of flavor that adds without overpowering. The hot carrys a nice bit of kick. Overall, a great choice for eating great barbecue with friends and family.

What can I say about Slaps? Well, the best ribs I've ever had in KC! If you're looking for some local Kansas City BBQ, look no further. Slaps is the place to go. You WILL have to wait in line for a bit if you go right at mealtime, but I promise you it's totally worth it! Delicious meats, fabulous sides and such a fun dining experience! You can either sit on the patio right outsider or on their rooftop patio! So fun! Highly recommend :)

Ordered the country man's plate with beans and cheese corn. Burnt ends were amazing and the brisket fantastic. Had the jalapeno sausage and it didn't disappoint. Corn great, too. One of my favorite KC BBQ spots by far. Excellent hole in the wall KC BBQ joint! We were looking for a KC BBQ place that was off the beaten path and came across this gem. The food was excellent the roof top view of the city skyline was beautiful. We ate the Burnt Ends and Brisket and were done of the best we have had here in KC. Well worth the drive.
