Absolutely in the top tier of Kansas City BBQ spots! Cool that it's in a house and in the summers the patio and bocce ball court is wonderful. All the food is so fantastic and terrific service. My favorite thing is that they don't sauce their meat. They let the quality speak for itself and leave it to you to add the sauce. So good!

With Joe's KC nearby, we typically know where to go when the family is craving quick BBQ. When we want a full, sit-down meal... we pick Woodyard. The burnt ends have NEVER disappointed; same with the string-fries and cheesy-corn.

The sauces are above average, with a typical choice of regular and spicy, and the meat is perfectly smoked and juicy. Well worth the money spent!!

Very tasty. Pulling up to the older building with the gravel lot, I knew I was in the right place. The atmosphere is great here and the service was awesome. I went at lunchtime on a weekday. The line can grow pretty long, but it moves quick. The smell of smoked meet permeates the air as soon as you open your car door. I ate half of a smoked chicken with two sides. The meat was very flavorful and not dry. The wings are very good as well. A coworker purchased the pool pork, but was not satisfied. Plenty of outdoor seating and an area for live music.

When our car pulled up, my coworker asked "What did you bring us to?" But then we stopped out of the car and smelled the BBQ, and then they all approved. The food was delicious and cheap. My wings were super crispy and with the BBQ, absolutely wonderful. I'd advise at least getting one rib to try it, they say they are the best in Kansas City. Probably not the best ribs I've ever had, but certainly worth a taste.
