Baker's Table Bakery

Address: 1001 Monmouth St, Newport, KY 41071, USA

Bakery Cafe Restaurant

“Staff was amazing. Baked bread was the best part of the breakfast sandwich I had. They know how to bake. However, everything else about the sandwich took away from the bread instead of highlighting the best part of their product. Too much egg, too much butter, and - I can’t believe I am saying this- too much bacon. Go for the bread, pass on the extras.”

Thorntons

Address: 1005 Town Dr, Wilder, KY 41076, USA

Bakery Cafe Restaurant

“Normal experience as far as gas stations go, we stopped to grab fuel before our 5+ hour drive. Restrooms were descent, not the cleanest but also not the dirtiest. Also grabbed one of their hot dogs, absolutely no taste but I didn't expect much anyways.”

“First time here was so great. It all starts with the cashier taking you order and the cashier I had was wonderful. On my receipt it says his name was IT. He was so up beat and so polite. I ordered turkey chili and he goes that is one of out out favorites here! It made me excited for my meal. He handed me my drink and said we have so many wonderful selections of beverages and that made me excited for my drink! It's all about the little things. The day was super rainy and blah when I came in but he definitely made me be in a better mood. This guy treats his task of getting orders like the most important job in the world and you know what, that's because in that moment for the customer, it is.”

Avenue Brew

“Really wonderful coffee shop! Today was my first time in, and the staff couldn't have been friendlier. They have a great selection of coffees and baked goods. I had the Highlander Grogg coffee, which was delicious, and the cheddar open faced omelette, such a big serving! We will definitely be back!”

“Great bourbon selection and loved our waitress Tina. It’s a cool space with a nice patio for warmer weather. Price points were also very fair. My 3 stars is related to the atmosphere. The owner was at the bar while talking to patrons. While we would have loved to sit at the bar it was completely full, with people waiting to get a seat by the time we left. While very understandable it’s disappointing seeing how many regulars the owner had at the bar on a Friday night and was chit chatting with instead of realizing he had a lot of others who would loved to be able talk to him. The owner seemed liked he’d had a few and one of the regulars was beyond obnoxious. He was so loud it was hard to carry on our own conversations without hearing his story about where he lived in Chicago and everything he’d done. Due to the screaming regular and loudness of the owner we decided to head out and find another bar in the area without screaming regulars. I’m disappointed the owner didn’t let the regular to take it down a notch. 2 other groups left at the same time as us and clearly seemed annoyed as well.”

IHOP

Address: 105 Pavilion Pkwy, Newport, KY 41071, USA

Bakery Restaurant

“Really lovely IHOP location, I don't know if the company has been doing remodels lately or something but this one is pretty. That said it's, on pad with the quality of every other IHOP I've been to. Affordable, delicious, and sugar syrupy sweet tea (Which yes of course I want that, I drove to Kentucky for pancakes give me that tea flavored sugar water.) I don't know about other IHOPs in the area but I do really enjoy going to this one.”

“Although I enjoy their food periodically, everyone should check their receipt before leaving. I checked the box for a 50 cent tip, but when I got home there was a $3.00 tip! Yikes! Check your receipt.”

Einstein Bros. Bagels

Address: 20 Kenton Dr, Highland Heights, KY 41076, USA

“I drove to Kentucky from Ohio to get some dang bagels. Unfortunately Google led us to a frischs big boys. Turns out the bagel place was in the library of northern Kentucky university. I arrived to find that I missed the closing time by 1 hour because on Fridays it closes at 3:00pm instead of 6:30(the closing time every other day excluding weekends.) Now I would've known this if it said the buisness hours on Google so I had to add them. Youre welcome. Anyways I stayed in a nearby motel motel for the weekend because I cannot be defeated. Monday morning I was waiting there at 7:30am when they open and I got my God dang cream cheese and locks then drove back to Ohio. Worst bagel related road trip ever. Minus 4 stars for the confusing location. Plus 2 because the bagel tasted delicious.”
