10 stars if I had the option! Best home cooking I’ve had on the road in in a long long time!!! Doesn’t look fancy but that’s because they’re to busy making amazing food!!! Highly recommend the sandwich called roast beef manhattan but have a big appetite!!!
Definitely recommend visiting here. Lucy and her staff are always courteous and friendly and the food is great. It hard to find a place a out here on the road that feels like home. The food, the atmosphere and the people achieve that. I have used the showers here as well. Hot and clean. I am a female driver and i have to say ...i would choose Lucy's over a cooperation any day.
I absolutely love this place very friendly staff. And good home cooked food. I visit everytime I’m within 50 miles. 1 of the cleanest and friendly places I’ve been to in a really long time. They treat you like family. The food is always great and plentiful. I beckon anyone and everyone to stop and give a try. Ya can’t go wrong.
This Diner is a very pleasant place to have breakfast and spend some quality time with loved ones. The restaurant was well maintained and was clean. My food was hot and it tasted great. If I'm ever out and about in the area again, I would eat there no doubt.
If you want to experience hospitality and friendly people and some really great food, you should absolutely visit Lucy's. They make you feel like family and when you're on the road, you dont take a thing like that for granted. Lucy is the owner and her sister is the only waitress. It's family run so that kind of makes sense.
The other commenter should really see a doctor about that stick in an unfortunate location because I've never found the place to be dirty. Busy? Yes. And that picture of the bathroom with the tiny speck behind the faucet? It's a chip in the porcelain. But I guess she has bad eyes in addition to the aforementioned stick. Bless her heart.
The grits tasted of old oil but she ate them anyway. How bad could they have been? If something tastes that bad you simply don't eat it. As for the butter/margarine thing...they bring you butter to the table. They use butter in your food. How do I know? They bring those little packets to the table. They are clearly labeled Land o' Lakes butter. But I'm not a rocket scientist so don't take my word for it. Also, opening the cabinet beneath the sink? If anyone knows that commenter, I bet she knows if you have dust on top of your refrigerator, the expiration dates of all your soup cans and if you took your blood pressure pills last Tuesday before she leaves your house. Beware!
If the other commenter had taken time to stop peering down her nose at what she thought was a lowly dive she might have realized what a gem the place is. More the pity for her! Please dont let her deter you!
I realize that quite alot of you are going to read this review and assume that I'm the owner. You'd be dead wrong. I live in the NE part of the state but travel through there many times a week. I never hesitate to stop in when my schedule as a trucker allows. The banana bread is always a must. Pair with a hot cup of coffee and prepare to order a second slice. I'll keep visiting and also saying a silent prayer or two for that poor woman's husband.
