Blue Door Smokehouse

While passing through town, we googled ‘best bbq in Lexington’ and found Blue Door Smokehouse. We stopped in around 6-7pm on a Friday and they were out of ribs, sadly, but I ordered the last of the brisket. I could tell it was the last of it because I was given way more than I deserved and it was amazing. Both sauces were delicious! And the best part is we ordered our food to go and my man brought the food out to the car where we proceeded to eat on the hood of the car. Amazing experience, friendly staff, great food. I’ll always come back when I’m in the area.

As a smoker of meats I am pretty particular on the taste that I appreciate.
Simply amazing. Authentic, great tasting, cool atmosphere. Loved it. Will certainly go back and highly recommend.

Absolutely amazing. The best Brisket in Lexington, maybe all of Kentucky. Nice, rustic atmosphere and fantastic service. A hole-in-the-wall you cannot miss

Outstanding beef brisket sandwich. The onion and pickles with the excellent hamburger bun made that sandwich that much better. Barbecue sauce is fantastic give you a mix of sweet spicy and tangy. A cute little small joint that has outstanding barbecue. I would go here again.

I'm from Pittsburgh and I was traveling around and I posted a question online about 'What should I do in Lexington?' I got so many responses to go to the Blue Door Smokehouse that I had to try it. Man, I was not disappointed! Some of the best BBQ I have ever had! You know it is a great joint when the silverware is in an old can and you get your own roll of paper towels. Highly recommended! I will always visit when I am in Lexington for sure!
