After visiting for multiple dinners, a bar visit, and morning pastries and coffee, I'm just not impressed with Epping's. One dinner my burger was overcooked, at another dinner my 'large' chopped salad portion was quite small and left me hungry immediately, and the pastries we ordered for breakfast (croissants--one with cheese and somehow gristly ham, the other almond) were EIGHT DOLLARS EACH, before tax. Eight dollars for a croissant, one of which was very, very average (shoutout to Sunrise for the best croissants in the state, and for significantly lower prices). I'm willing to pay a good amount for food, but I've never seen prices like this on baked items even in NYC, LA, or even London. On the bright side, the space is beautifully done and the staff is nice enough.
Chef Cole was fantastic. He came to the table to check on us and visited with the kids. He is genuine, clearly talented, and runs a clean well-staffed establishment. The staff was all great as well as the food.
Excellent dinner all around. The fried pickles are as good as the reviews say. Our server was very attentive, not overbearing, and a pleasure to talk to. The seasonal bread pudding is a must try and the molasses brownie will knock your socks off. This is a great addition to Lexington.
The food and atmosphere were outstanding. It is easy to get and had decent parking. I was there for a private party and the wait staff was excellent. I loved the sausage selection. It was very good. The crab cakes were also outstanding.
