If you haven't tried Peruvian Food, you really should. It is nothing like Mexican and the flavors are one of a kind. Lexington was long overdue on having this type of food. The staff is friendly and the prices are really reasonable!
My friend and I stumbled upon this restaurant a few days ago, and what a pleasant surprise! The food was amazing. I can’t recall the name of my dish but it was chicken with seasoned rice that was honestly the best I’ve ever had. I highly recommend this restaurant not only for the food but the staff who were all very kind and welcoming.
Peruvian food is one of the most pleasantly unique foods I've come across. Peru is home to the hundreds of potato varieties as well as peppers and seafood so the food is inherently very diverse and unique. Not to mention the Asian influence in the cusine. Do yourself a favor and not extrapolate Peruvian food to be just rice and beans or another variety of Mexican food.
We got lunch here and the food was incredible and authentic. We got the lomo saltado, arroz con pollo, the chicharrón pollo, and papas huacaina. Everything from the flavor of the dishes to the dipping sauces took us back to our time in Peru where we ate at both large restaurants and local, village restaurants. Everything tasted authentic and undeniably delicious.
My only criticisms were that the paper takeout containers were ill-suited and got really soggy and droopy when we got home. And the lomo saltado was a bit pricey but that's understandable given the rising beef prices and they probably used a good cut of steak for the dish. And they didn't seem to have aji de gallina nor causa rellena which are some of our favorite dishes. But the other dishes made up for it.
Overall we love the food we had and can't recommend it more.
We had the Lomo Saltado, Arroz con Pollo, chicharrón de pollo and papa a la huancaina. It was all soooo delicious, just so so tasty 😋 We especially loved the sauces that came with everything. I wish they'd make bottles of them to sell, bc we'd buy them.
