Our server, her name escapes me, was wonderful! Attentive, knowledgeable, and interactive. The food was delicious. My friend and I shared the brisket tartare, the schnitzel carbonara, and the pork belly. The tartare was a five out of five awesome. The schnitzel itself was a five out of five awesome, the carbonara was eh. Pork belly was on point.
Excellent and innovative food. We were just passing through Lexington and wanted a farm to table dinner. The portions were large for the price and complex. You could tell a lot of thought went into each dish. We had sausages and lamb. Both top notch and local And our server Sophie was a pleasure and recommended an after dinner stroll in the Uni. Arboretum as the sun set. If you have time, the walk makes a perfect Apéritif.
This restaurant definitely lives up to its name. The bar is the focus, with most of the tables being two-tops along the window, which explains why it can be hard to get a reservation. The pickles (an assortment of root vegetables, jalapeño, bamboo shoots, and onion varieties) and the whipped feta plate were colorful and delicious, but a tad pricy. My husband and I split the lamb, which was not bad, but not worth $30 (in my opinion). Everything was cooked well and plated nicely. I was glad to hear they try to source locally and sustainably as much as possible, and will probably be back to try a different main dish. Its atmosphere is dressy casual and the staff is very friendly, but seemed a bit distracted.
After several years of being open, I finally had the chance to make a reservation and visit Middle Fork Kitchen Bar in the Pepper District.
It's been exciting to watch this old Pepper Distillery district grow and bloom into such a fun and interesting area with quite a few different things to do!
Since there are several establishments here, they share a parking lot but I don't usually have any trouble finding a spot. Now that there are more businesses open, in the Old Pepper Rickhouse there is also a parking lot on the other side that could also be used if the lot is full.
We arrived promptly for our reservation, were greeted with a warm welcome and seated quickly.
The restaurant is beautiful! I love the gorgeous wood tables and the modern rustic design.
We started with several vegetable appetizers along with sampling a few different beers. The presentation is just lovely and, of course, fresh and delicious.
Their menu changes frequently, even daily, so you probably won't know what will be available until you get there, but don't worry, there will be something for everyone! My boyfriend is Vegan and he was able to find several options that would work for him. I tried the pork chop entree and it was absolutely melt in your mouth delicious!
I highly recommend a visit to this unique restaurant, you will be delighted! And hang out afterward to have some fun sampling beer from the nearby breweries, ice cream, axe throwing, or even a classic arcade!
We had an awesome experience with some of the most unique food I have ever tried. The rabbit under glass with Brussels sprouts leaves was spectacular. The pear crumble dessert was incredible. The food arrived in perfect timing for sharing. Our waitress was exceptional. Thank you for a delightful evening.
