Great food and service here! An easy stroll from the Hyatt. Recommendations include Korean chicken sandwich, the B.E.L.T., Brussels sprouts, bread pudding, and an exhaustive bourbon list with proof and tasting notes included. Our server Jenny was friendly and professional. Definitely stopping by on the next trip!
The pork chop was outstanding! I had the Noah's Hill bourbon. It was very good if you like the cinnamon flavor.
I’ve heard so many great things about The Village Idiot over the years and finally got a chance to go. It lived up to the hype. Cocktails were phenomenal; food was beyond amazing. Between the three of us, we got the duck+waffles, Korean fried chicken sandwich, and Idiot burger (apparently, the top 3 menu items, according to our server). Everything was so unique and non-pretentious - in fact, with the duck and waffles in particular, I couldn’t even think of another place I’d been to, Lexington or not, that had such a standout flavor profile. Worth the trip and worth every penny.
We were in from out of town and just wanted to get some food. Nothing special. The servers seemed nice but they were running all over the restaurant. Seemingly overworked and understaffed. When they waitress got to use she seemed almost out of breath.
The food was okay. Nothing special about the burger and the Korean Chicken sandwich could have had a better sauce. It also took nearly 10 minute for me to get a whiskey on the rocks. Which ended up being watered down by the time it got to me. Overall could have been a better experience with my people on staff.
