“Ordered take out :Grilled half-shell oysters & sausage/chicken gumbo. The set up is great for the wait time in your car. They have a person sitting outside waiting to take your order or find out if you ordered when you enter driveway. I was told to go to parking space 204. The waiter brought out my food in less than a wait time at the burger places & the correct order; with a smile on his face. I say the correct order because there were many cars out there waiting on their food. Again, better than the burger places. The food was like Tony the Tiger would say: GREAT!!!”

“The only problem is deciding on a dish. I just have to keep going back. How lucky are we to have such a talented chef near us. Chef Folse did a yearly Moonlight and Jazz fundraiser for St. Michael high school. Word got out. The number of parents doubled each year.”

“This place is hands down the best dominos probably in Louisiana. The staff is super nice and friendly and even brought me pizza and plates. The pizza was fantastic, no burnt edges, and a good amount of toppings compared to other pizza places. It was also pretty cool being able to watch my pizza being made from scratch through the glass bar. With out a doubt I will definitely be back!!”

“I ABSOLUTELY LOVED this historic site! If I could give more I’d give it a perfect 10! This has been the most informative plantation yet that I’ve visited here in Louisiana. The place is just gorgeous (and huge!). Our tour guide, Suzanna, was by far the best I’ve had the pleasure of listening to. She was so very knowledgeable, sweet, funny and answered every single question we asked. It was VERY apparent that she enjoyed her job, sharing so much history. The gardens were beautiful!! And the oak trees were the oldest, most beautiful that I’ve ever seen (and I’ve seen them ALL over!) We spent over 3 hours touring the grounds and mansion and I wish we could’ve stayed even longer! We were even allowed to take our dogs through the property which was such a relief! I cannot say enough about Houmas House!! It’s a MUST SEE historic site and worth every single penny!! Our next stop is Whitney Plantation, which was advertised at Houmas House, to learn about both historical accounts during this era. Hope you enjoyed learning about Houmas House as much as we did!!”

“I enjoyed my visit here. This restaurant is inside the property known as Houmas House. (I think the reviews for this place most likely were posted on there as Latil’s Landing is just one of the several restaurants they have in the property.) The host was friendly and sat us immediately. They have a buffet, but you can also order from their menu. Our server was friendly and attentive. For beverages, their coffee was really good; the sweet tea is good as well. The food was deliciously cooked, from the appetizer to the dessert. I truly enjoyed their étouffée. And you will like the fact that the cooking style is not salty nor too spicy. It’s just perfect for enjoyment. The only challenge was getting to the restaurant, but it was also part of the fun as you have to walk through the beautiful gardens to get there.”

“Fantastic hidden restaurant surrounded by lush tropical landscaping - this restaurant never disappoints! The Sunday brunch is all-you-can-eat and is a great value. The drinks are strong, cool and delicious. Make sure you stop in at the nearby Turtle Bar which is only a few feet from the entrance to this restaurant. It's one of the most interesting and unique small bars you will ever pop into in the Baton Rouge - New Orleans areas. If you do find yourself eating at Cafe Burnside or grabbing a delicious cocktail at the Turtle Bar, I assure you that you'll be smitten and continue coming here no matter where you're from our how long your drive is. Guaranteed!”
