Cassandra's Louisiana Kitchen

Very good food. Good size portion. Nice presentation. Particularly liked the gator appetizer. Pricey.

We were looking for a place to get off the highway for a while and have one last great meal in Louisiana. We read some reviews for Cassandra's Louisiana Kitchen online and thought it sounded great. We arrived a little before 1:00 PM on a Sunday and the after church crowd was there, all dressed so nicely from attending church. While the parking lot was pretty full we were able to get a table right away.

Our waitress was one of the sweetest people we met on our trip. She was kind and very helpful. We asked a couple of questions, got our drinks and placed our order for food. It you are looking for some home cooking at a restaurant Cassandra's is the place.

I got the spicy smothered shrimp. The portion was very generous and the shrimp were beautiful and cooked perfectly to make the a real treat. The gravy they were smothered in was delicious and had just the right amount of spice to make it flavorful but not too hot.

Also at our table I got to try the shrimp and grits which tasted great with well cooked grits and great flavors. I easily could have had a full plate of the shrimp and grits, and would definitely order it in the future. My wife ordered the burger and thought the burger was delicious. In fact she was still talking about the burger miles down the road as we were back on the highway.

Cassandra's was great! Nice environment, great staff and awesome food! One of the few places in the area that sales real homemade cheese burgers. If you dine there definitely ask for Cee (host/waitress) she done an wonderful job of making me feel welcomed!

I have never sat and ate all of my food in one sitting. I've eaten many of places, but to eat at a place where you need nothing but silverware, keep the seasonings because everything is seasoned to perfection. Prices are very reasonable, and you cannot go wrong with the daily specials. Will be returning 2wice a week????????????

Excellent service. Food was delicious and of exceptional quality! I had the seafood platter and my wife had the gumbo. We will definitely be returning!
