Custom burger place with a small bar, half a dozen beers on tap. When we sat down, we were giving a small pre-packaged wet wipes; which I took to mean the burger was good and sloppy. It may actually have been a covid-19 precaution, but the burgers we're messy enough to be wonderful.
The bison burger was very good, excellent crust, but not spectacular for $13. The bourbon Branch Burger was also good, but light on the barbecue sauce. For the meat, the best burger was the plain hamburger, which you could dress up however you want it, called the build your own Burger. I actually had the best luck with the four cheese grilled cheese, and the egg sandwich with the hint of apple jelly oh, the flavor was excellent. In addition, both of these sandwiches were about $5 each. The Smith fries were crisp and slightly spicy.
At $66 for four people, seemed pretty pricey or even a top in burger joint. And not really quick enough for a good interstate highway driving stop. Maybe a good place, if you knew all the local specials.
We met some friends there and were seated quickly. I tried the brisket burger and my friend got a turkey burger and we shared an order of fries; I was initially impressed with the variety of burgers and toppings offered as well as the prompt and courteous service. My brisket burger was delicious and my friend was very pleased with her turkey burger. The fries were also good, not the best I've had, but were still a nice side with the burgers. Will definitely go again to try some of the other options offered. Prices were about average based on what I have seen in similar places
Normally I get the four cheese grilled cheese and it’s great!! This time I got a burger with fried egg. It was super salty and peppery. My wife got the burger in a lettuce wrap and hers was salty. And the kids got a burger meal. They got tons of fries!! We were shocked, so many fries for a kids meal. I didn’t get to take a picture of the cheese fries. They were amazing. I was starting out with a 5 star experience but the super salty, peppery and tons of mustard brought them down to 3.
The burger was decent and reasonably priced. I had a build your own burger, butter and garlic fries and an Abita Root Beer Float. I really enjoyed the float.
The butter and garlic fries were pretty dry. They tasted fine, but when you name something butter fries, you expect to be buttery.
Excellent service, Taylor and the other staff do excellent work. The food was great and their daily specials are good. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for some of the best burgers and fries in Baton Rouge Louisiana...
