The Best Hot Roast Beef In Baton Rouge! One of the few in Baton Rouge that has a New Orleans feel to it, and their Lost fries (Debris Fries In Other Places) Are Wonderful!
After having some horrendous dining experiences in Louisiana, this place has restored my faith in Cajunkind. The food was awesome, every single dish. I personally recommend the oyster poor boy and gumbo. Cole slaw was especially good. Mississippi mud pie and bread pudding were just perfect. I believe it's all made from scratch, which is a rarity these days. And the service is wonderful, true hospitality. You will not regret it.
This is a great place for lunch. Great food and good service. Very popular among locals , be prepared for a busy atmosphere during prime times. Many dignitaries have dined here because of the food. Not a fancy or elegant atmosphere, just a fun lively place. Highly recommend this spot. Donald at the State capitol recommended this simple local restaurant. The staff are delightful and we had a delicious lunch. I had the gumbo and my daughter the rabbit Po-Boy. This is a great place.
We were looking for a restaurant near the Mississippi walkway that was nice but casual and Poor Boy Lloyd's was perfect! I got the shrimp poor boy, and the bread had a nice crispy crust to it without being tough. The shrimp were lightly battered and fresh without being heavy or greasy at all. The sandwich had just the right level of spice to it and was full of flavor. The Mississippi Mud was one of the best desserts I've had in a long time. Staff were friendly and helpful. We had a great visit and will be back.
I'm visiting from out of town and I'm so glad I stopped here! The gumbo was awesome! Loaded with shrimp and crawfish! At least 3 of each in my tiny cup of it! The fried pickles were amazing! The best I've ever had! Spicy but not too spicy, crispy with a flaky batter and still crunchy! Three onion rings looked just as good and I can't wait to come back to Baton Rouge to visit again and try them! The bread pudding was heavenly! And I don't normally care much for bread pudding (but they were sold out of the Mississippi Mudd!) The Community Coffee was the perfect addition to the meal and the staff were all so incredibly friendly! I seriously can't wait to return! ?????
