Decent food but a bit pricy. My daughter walked over And got a sandwich for $10. Okay, no biggie but she asked for a side. Was charged $5 for a side of beans. Should be listed somewhere “bring wallet for sides”
I go here for lunch infrequently. Only because I forget how close it is to so many areas. Downtown, Perkins, Corporate, LSU, etc. If you are looking for a down home plate lunch, Zeeland Street is a good place. You do not get waited on. No problem for me. I had the red beans yesterday...it was Monday. However, they have good burgers, barbeque, pot roast, etc., etc. If you are looking for a wait staff and tablecloths, this is not the place for you. If you want a good home style meal, with meat, veggie and a starch; you should give this a try. I understand they do a very good breakfast as well.
The staff here were so kind and friendly. We were in town for a funeral and just happened upon this place. The interior was so fun & eclectic. It looks like they have live music. This is definitely a place I would frequent if I lived in town.
Today I had the pot roast. The Italian salad dressing was zippy and fun. I needed more of it. I will be back to try the smoked brisket next time.
Great take on upclassed plate lunches. Trendy area of Baton Rouge with a cool atmosphere. The pecan smoked brisket is to die for! So so good. Perfect southern sides of sweet potatoes and greens to go with!
