Gendusa's Italian Market

Gendusa's is one of the best Italian restaurants around. Super friendly staff, food portions are generous, and everything I have had so far is amazing. The specials are always worth a listen. They take pride in making sure their customers have a good experience. Due to covid 19 it's currently only takeout, and I expect a snafu here and there with ordering out so it's not a huge deal when something happens. So recently we ordered from Gendusa's, and one of our calzones was left out of our pickup order. I only noticed it once home. Well, the staff noticed on their own and drove it out to me. That kind of attention and respect toward your customers is guaranteed to get repeat business from me. Thank you for serving up great Italian!

Marina sauce was delicious.. wonderful homemade Italian sausage. Food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Great service- thank you Jade!

Nice place overall. Hole in the wall atmosphere with decent Italian food. Prices are reasonable,casual attire recommended & great hours. I did hope the food would have been better because these family Italian joints are becoming harder to find around NOLA unfortunately.

Wonderful service & delicious food!!! They are very accommodating as we had a large party. And always satisfied when leaving this restaurant. Highly recommend.

10-20-19 dinner. I believe our waitress was Emily. I could be wrong about the name if so it was something like that. She was very sociable and super attentive to our needs. The waitress did a great job. Similar situation with me as stated in other reviews about this location. I’ve heard very good things about this restaurant and left not as satisfied as I thought I would be. The food was not great it was good enough. The food was not bad by any means just not what I expected. The atmosphere was fine it felt a little cramped however it was not intolerable, not a dealbreaker. There were six of us 4 adults and 2 children and the bill was about 120. I would return to this location however it would not be on the top of my list.
