My first time to this place. I went because of the $1 dollar tacos. By far the best $7 dollar I’ve ever spent. Homemade corn tortillas. Made fresh in front of you. Love the authenticity of the Mexican taco. Service was pleasant. Friendly people. Very fluent in Spanish & in English. Celest and the cook were very kind. Chips fried fresh also. The atmosphere of the place was very much like an authentic Mexican kitchen, but for most… might find it needing a fresh new look. But for me, I felt right at home!
The food there was okay.
That's all I got to say. I'm not a big Mexican food lover. The service was perfect. Th atmosphere was swell very well.
This place is sooo good.
the tortillas are made fresh to order - no pre- made store bought tortillas here.
Everything is super fresh and authentic. The employees clearly take pride in their job and provide excellent service with even better food.
The $1.00 tacos on Tuesdays seems too good to be true for the quality.
Def give this place a try.
This place is on my street and I love Mexican food so I had to try it. I'm picky about Mexican food as I've spent time in Mexico and most NOLA Mexican places are not authentic and/or serve bad food. The great thing about this spot is that the owners are Mexican and serve real, authentic and regional Mexican dishes. The food is good. I had a birria huarache and my partner had enchiladas rojas and we were happy with both dishes.
They do have some new restaurants kinks to work out. The menu is confusing they have printouts on two walls with dishes they serve. Even odder they don't include written prices anywhere. A laminated menu would help. Also, I had inedible wax paper under my huarache that took some work to remove.
Hopefully these kinks get worked out because the food is good and I'd love to have authentic Mexican food a short walk from my house for a long time to come.
First time to Garibaldi’s. Named after a park in central Mexico. Ivan and his partner Gilberto bring an authentic Mexican flavor to the River Ridge area of Jefferson Parish.
Tonight I indulged myself with a plate of Garnachas.
Garnachas are grilled hand made tortillas topped with a red sauce, chicken, and onions. You may add any additional ingredient if you please. You also have an option to substitute the red sauce to mole sauce, a chocolate cacao, chile, tomato, spices made into a paste.
Both types were delicious, but if like it a bit spicier. I recommend the mole sauce. You will not be disappointed.
