Home town favorite! Literally can't miss with this place. Just close your eyes and point to something on the menue. Expect extremely friendly service like you have been coming there your whole life.
Breakfast at Spahr's in Thibodaux this morning was wonderful.
Walking in, I spotted some JT Meleck Distillers hand sanitizer for sale.
I ordered a bloody Mary. Wow ! Homeade with a well rounded flavor. The homeade pickled cucumber was a nice touch. Not some store bought mix.
The crab cake appetizer was wonderful. A homemade crab ball with a light crust. It was full of pulled crabmeat. The crawfish sauce was light and packed with flavor.
My wife got the pain perdu. Homemade, not dry, with a heavy sweet cinnamon flavor.
I got the seafood omelet which had the same seafood sauce as the crab cake. It was awesome!
I got a side of biscuits and gravy. The gravy had locally sourced sausage which was crumbly and delicious. The gravy was scratch made, on a light and airy butterflied biscuit.
Get some.
Good food. Excellent attention.
Prices are Okay.
If there were 10 stars I'd give it to them! Everything from the greeting at the door, the food, hospitality and of course the food was excellent. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and my husband's creole chicken with crawfish gravy was delicious. Don't miss out on the bread pudding with rum sauce. We shared on there and brought on home. Can't go wrong eating here!
MUST! for Sunday Brunch STOP!
Seafood omelet, delicious sauce
Biscuit, buttered and grilled
Grits, just right
Bacon and Hashbrowns, crispy
All seasoned just right, but there was that bottle of Spahr's labeled hot sauce. Had to have some! I was told they use it in many of their dishes including their popular Bakon Mary! Gotta try it next time! Make sure you order your own! It only comes with one piece of bacon! Please act civilized.
