I let the owner know that the waitress brought me the wrong thing and all I got was a shrug . But the food was good, prices on the high side

My visit was just "OK". I'll go back but only for a M-F lunch.
The food was pretty good but their beef burrito supreme had very little beef and a whole lot of toppings (taste like store bought guacamole).
What really put a damper on the whole thing was the price!
$40 for two soft drinks and two simple meals. I feel like that is excessive for a small cafe`.

High quality Mexican food that hits the spot. Best salsa! Looking for something out of the box? The avocado toast is incredible!

Ate here for lunch the second day they were open. Service was great and food came out quickly considering the building was full to capacity. My initial impression is the food itself was typical of small town mexican joints. It didn't stick out to me above the rest, but there was nothing unusual to complain about. The salsa was just the right heat and flavor for me, chips were your usual - not too thick and not too thin. The shrimp chimi was a little light on shrimp but the tortilla it was fried in was very flavorful on its own. Rice and beans - well they are just that. Edit: Tried the carnitas and the pork salsa verde tonight. Also very good. This will be a stop on my list because it is so close to home, so on all the nights that I don't want to drive into Hammond, this will be great! I look forward to trying other items to see how they compare to this one. Check it out if you are in the area.

We bought takeout, and when I got home and open the box, I was so pleasantly surprised. The homemade tortillas wrapped around mine, huge steak enchilada was filled with so much meat and the meat with juicy and tender. I am definitely eating there tonight, even though I have to drive to pick it up.
I can’t wait until they start having delivery. I will be a regular customer.
