The kibbeh was amazing and was definitely worth the wait. Got the platter with the salad and the olives and feta and it was supper refreshing and didn't taste greasy at all. Also a great ratio of wheat to lamb. Will be back
I am Egyptian, so I can tell you the Egyptian food served here is sooooo tasty! I went as far as telling the guy working there (not sure if he is the owner, name is Lasheen) that his maesa’ay3 (eggplant / tomato paste side dish) was better than any I’ve ever tasted. DEFINITELY go here!
Excellent food. So refreshing after having heavy creole food. We got a veggie plate with hummus, dolmas, labneh, tahziki, babaghanoush, tabouleh, and a King Tut falafel, which was gigantic and has a hard boiled egg in the middle. The food is fresh and full of different but delicious flavor.
Brilliant little stall in the ST Roche Market serving 100% legit Egyptian/Middle Eastern Food. If you like Lebanese, Jordanian or Israeli food you will dig this place. Been here twice in the last 2 days, for dinner and for breakfast.
Got talking to the owner and apparently he is doing well enough to open a full service restaurant in the near future.
As a Middle Eastern I highly enjoyed the authentic flavours of this restaurant. We ordered the eggplant stew and the lamb gyro, they both came with a side of hummus and a salad. Everything was so flavoursome and fresh. The drinks they sell there are so yummy too! I highly recommend the lemon and mint drink on a hot New Orleans day! YUM! Great service and authentic food! Thank you and best of luck !
