I’ve had food from The Rusty Pelican twice recently. Both times I ordered online for pickup. The first time I went in myself for the seafood platter. My seafood platter was ready when I arrived and the staff member was polite and professional. The second time, my husband picked up my hot sausage poboy plate. Both times the food was fresh, tasted great, and lasted 2 + meals. I’m so impressed with this restaurant. I will definitely be back ad I’ve already recommended it to people I know in the northshore and southshore.

Busy little place, with pretty good food and they even serve a few different beers.
The Hotsy Totsy burger and the Filet sandwich.

I eat here pretty often. The food, service and atmosphere are great. The owner is usually here everytime I come. They are very kind folks. They always asking how are things and talking to us just about anything. If your in the area definitely stop in for a bite. Btw the crab cakes are pretty much all crab meat. They definitely do it right ✅️.

We recently went on a road trip from Texas to Florida, and had booked a night at an AirB&B near Sun, Louisiana. Before driving into the country side, we stopped in Covington for dinner. So glad we did. There was no wait, the staff was very friendly, it’s in a nice area, and the food was very good. We got the appetizers of fried green tomatoes and cheese sticks. The cheese sticks were some of the best I’ve had. Tasted home made instead of some out of a frozen package. My husband had the fried seafood platter. He really enjoyed it. I only had one of his oysters. It was good. My son had the gumbo. He had gumbo at least two other places on the trip, and some yesterday near our house, and says theirs was still his favorite. I also had the gumbo and a roast beef po-boy. I liked the gumbo too but really liked the po-boy even more. I could not eat it all and upon finishing it the next day, felt it tasted even better. Maybe it was due to the juices softening the bread. We would definitely return to the Rusty Pelican.
