Absolutely fabulous. Best meal I've eaten in a long time.
A bit pricey but they know to cook steak, and can prepare calamari without turning them into rubber bands. The chili sauce they include with the calamari.
On the ribeye I asked for a charred medium rare steak which is tough for an average restaurant to do. They did it perfect. My only complaint was that the quality of the ribeye could have been better. I don't expect perfect in a $34 steak, but I was expecting better than the one I got. It was certainly better than any $25-$30 steak in the region.
Great service, great wait staff.
We only go once a year or so, so a lot can change in that period. Last year we had a more mature and skilled waiter who was very attentive. He "knew" what a fine dining experience should be like and we left 100% satisfied with no regrets about the $200 bill for two. This year our waitress was inexperienced and lacked the refinement you would expect at this venue. She described the specials as tasting "good" rather than articulating what the chef had created. Though the food was still delicious the experience was a huge disappointment. The service was close to what you'd get at a chain restaurant. I would rather eat a meal that was slightly less delicious and be spoiled with impeccable service. I was hoping to establish a tradition here, but I'll try somewhere else next year.
The food was spectacular, the service even better!
I feel like I may be a bit tough by giving only 4 stars. Everything was very good- the food and the service. The only thing I missed is the conversation, the socializing. I felt like the appetizer arrived very quickly after we ordered, and the main dishes arrived very quickly after our appetizer. We walked out literally 60 minutes exactly after we arrived. I'm OK with that at a typical casual restaurant. At restaurants like Ruth's Chris, etc. the dining is slower, more relaxed. That's what I was looking for in an anniversary dinner. Perhaps it was my fault in expecting something different. However, this place was very nice and I'll be back.
