Toad Hollow

Always great!! We have never been disappointed.

Great downtown restaurant! Loved my tuna melt sandwich, as well as the cheese and fruit platter. It had best apple slices, blue cheese, candied pecans, Brie and other great cheeses.
We also tried the salmon on a baguette. It was lovely.
French toast was a large order and very good.
We all liked the bowls. Great menu and the service was so friendly and accommodating for our Gluten free guest.
We were visiting family and this is a favorite spot of theirs and now ours!
Highly recommend.

Great Little restaurant in downtown Covington. I love their breakfast selection, lots of accommodating options and good drink/coffee selection. Friendly staff and a nice atmosphere, especially in the mornings.

TL;DR ~~ I remember Toad Hollow being a much healthier restaurant a few years ago...

For reference, the last time I had eaten at Toad Hollow was about 2 years ago. It was the healthy eats place to go to in the downtown Covington area. Today (01/09/2020), we ordered the Chicken Quesadilla and the Salmon BLT. The items were delicious, but we were shocked by the enormous amount of grease/butter used to cook the items. The photo below shows grease puddle on the plate after the Chicken Quesadilla had been eaten. My healthy sandwich didn't seem so healthy afterwards.

So maybe stick with the salads for a healthy option?

Great little cafe for salads and sandwiches. I have a gluten allergy, and I'm very appreciative that they offer gluten free sandwiches (hard to come by in Louisiana) and have a chef who is both knowledgeable and sensitive to their customers' needs. This is a very popular place for a reason!
