“Mr. Mule's Kitchen on FriYay The temp has had my body craving gumbo, and Mr. Mule's had it as the special today. The place is small, but clean. The waitstaff is very polite. Now, the gumbo was bringing what it needed to bring: full of sausage and chicken, rice not overcooked, and a nice colored roux with a bold, developed flavor. The potato salad was okay. FYI: they don't have crackers for the gumbo- nearly broke my heart. Yet again, that gumbo flavor made up for it. I didn't try the fried fish and shrimp, but it looked like a winner when it passed by. Outdoor seating is available.”

“It’s a good bar..good music..selectively. Buttt it’s a college town bar. They won’t let you in w/o a college Id. So if you’re a local or someone who is out of town they won’t let you in. I had a Georgia license and he tried to say my license was fake…I had to involve the cops and everything. Shouldn’t have to take all that. I couldn’t even get in with my friends. Out of Towners just steeer awayyy. Find another spot.”

“Great choice for breakfast or lunch in downtown Hammond. I usually order the Caliente with a side of chorizo. Put that in between those nice fried tortillas with a little Tapatio and you have a great meal. Service varies. Once when I was in service dropped off sharply while they were busy, but when I catch them between rushes service tends to be really good. Food is good and I think the prices are reasonable so this is a staple of ours for weekend brunch.”

“Nothing like authentic Mexican food! My family and I tried the Tacos de asada, tacos de barbacoa, huevos rancheros , and pambasos. Everything was fresh and delicious!! Prices are very reasonable. “Didn't spend time inside the main bar area. I attended a Queer North shore Meetup event and we hung out across the street. I believe that is where the food area is. I was there on a Wednesday evening and the kitchen isn't open Monday through Wednesday. I can't comment on the food. I geeked out over the knockers on the men's and women's restrooms. FROM THE LABYRINTH 😍😍. Nice touch lol. The bartenders were nice and courteous. If you get a glass at the main bar, you have to put a lid on it while you walk over to the food area. Nice atmosphere.”

“It's nothing to write home about, could use a lil more ambiance. And maybe toast the salad croutons. They're supposed to be toasted, not raw bread. My salad was good without them. The waitress was really sweet and at least the guy at the bar apologized for his foul language. The music blaring on patio is comparable to the music blaring in the bars in Tijuana. Also, I don't mind paying a high price if it's worth it. But this time, not worth it. Sorry guys.”

“I have been coming to University for years. The business as a whole has gone downhill. Everything is smaller, the prices (and credit card convenience charge) have continually gone up, and you will surely ruin the suspension on your car if you don’t pay attention to the giant craters in the parking lot. The latest example is from this morning. Ordered a half-dozen specialty donuts, paid almost $10, and then I realized that two of them were regular glazed donuts. Not worth complaining to them about, but enough to make me consider driving the extra couple of miles to Doughlicious.”

“A different type of experience. You enter on the left, place and pay for your order, then wait on your order # to be called. The way the restaurant is set up is like you're supposed to wait to be seated, and someone will come take your order, but that is definitely not the case here. Once we figured out how to place the order, everything else was fine. I think we are just used to wait staff coming to bring drinks and take our order. Food was extremely hot as in temperature but it was very good considering the atmosphere. Very reasonably priced and the amount of food was good also--enough for leftovers (take home) the only suggestion I have is for first timers in this restaurant there is someone there at the hostess station to let you know how to place and wait on your orders. We enjoyed the food and will definitely be back to try the Juicy Seafood.”

“Went to Chick Fil A today. First time in Louisiana. I have to say compared to Virginia they do their parking lots and drive thru right. Ample parking. Huge drive thru. It was crowded upon going in but the staff handled the crowd easily and my order was taken pretty quick. I was a bit nervous when I read other reviews about the salad however my salad was perfect. I got the Cobb Salad with ranch dressing. Everything was fresh and delicious. Service was good and with all the foot traffic they did an amazing job keeping everything clean. I really enjoyed my visit and staff was courteous and great! Good job Chick Fil A!!”
