“A pretty solid experience here for what it is. After having a sub par fried shrimp po boy at Watergrill I was determined to make amends. It was recommended by a co worker so we rolled the dice. Ordered at the tablet at front and it shot my order to the front. Food came out fast and was plentiful. Golden fried shrimp with adequate seasoning and flavor. Went classic lettuce tomato mayo. Too much lettuce and not the best. I would suggest nixing the lettuce for anyone else. The weak point of the sandwich was the bread and some argue the bread makes the sammy. Good, dirty, crispy sweet potato fries that I’ll order again. Pretty busy at lunch. Missing a star for the bread and having to walk next door for ice. Recommend.”

“Showed up to La Carreta on a Monday afternoon around lunch. Was seated fast and friendly with about 50% of the place filled. Monday is all day happy hour and it is one of the best I have found in Houma. 3$ for a 22 oz beer. Pretty solid. Complimentary chips and salsa. To be clear this is Mexican American, this isn’t authentic Mexican. But for what it is, it’s pretty dang good. Ordered a steak burrito with rice and beans. Good portions for the price. Friendly and prompt service. If I am ever in the area I would return. Can recommend for the good happy hour and solid steak burrito.”

“The food was AWESOME! We ordered the Ultimate Nachos as an appetizer. You could have this as a meal as it has so much on it. We had to take it to go and we ate it later. I had the 3 tacos - 2 fish and 1 jerk chicken. The flavors of these tacos are on point. You get enough spice that says cajun without too much heat. The best fish tacos I have ever had. My husband had the All American burger and it too was very good. It is on a sweet type roll which gave it a distinctive flavor. The beef was cooked perfectly. We will definitely be back for more! We went right at 11 so there were no issues with service either.”

“In town for work. Locals said 1921 has best oysters around. They weren’t kidding. Biggest oysters I’ve ever seen. Ordered the trash basket grilled. Soft shell, shrimp, oysters and catfish. Enjoyed it immensely. My wife had the red snapper fillet with sweet potato fries. The food was delicious. A little on the pricey side. We enjoyed the atmosphere and meal”

“This is my second time trying Big Mikes and I was yet again satisfied! This place is always good. No matter what I order it will consistently be good. The staff is also so friendly and patient. Quick drive thru experience with fantastic restaurant quality food. One of our items, was missing the coleslaw the sandwich comes with but it was still so good without it. My favorite is the brisket, they also have desserts. Mac and cheese balls are so yummy too!”
