CLASSIC!!
Last of the Great American Drive-Ins
and
Home of the Original Whopper
The owners are selling this place but, after the frenzied outcry of Fat Boy fans from around the globe, they are keeping it going as it always has until a new buyer shows. This is your last chance to visit this most excellent Maine tradition on the Old Bath Rd across from the former Brunswick Naval Air Station.
An Absolute MUST!!!
Bomb. Where else can you get a fantastic lobster roll on a nicely toasted bun for $9? Burgers were good too and cheap! I don't know why people are saying it's expensive. It was by far the cheapest meal we had in Maine.
We stopped by this institution to eat at a real, old-school drive in and weren't disappointed. Service was friendly, food was tasty, and the joint was old. Cool.
The lobster roll was tasty, the fried scallop basket was good, and the onion rings were the star.
You gotta do it! This is such an integral part of Brunswick's history that any visit up Route 1 would be memorable even if this was the only stop along the way! Obviously there are many memories to be made in Maine but the aura and food speak for themselves. "Whopers" predate the "Whoppers" - amazing crab cakes and fried clams and shrimp - and cap that with true frappes/shakes. All the more impressive as a single story drive in directly underneath the Brunswick Jetport runway paths!
Put it on your bucket list and maybe even routine!
