The cosiest venue in Portland. Cool drinks, nice bites, and an awesome staff make this a great choice for date night. Also a very intimate space to see some of your favorite artists.
The music was outstanding, but the servers were rude, and apparently they have a policy where you HAVE to buy something in order to even be allowed to stay. Which, the performer was a close friend of mine and was irritating considering he invited me. I'm not stingy, I bought a drink for the show anyway, but the whole demeanor about their "policy" upset me.
A unique vibe in Portland is tough to achieve due to there already being so many but Blue offers an experience all their own. Kitchen is open late, good food, and the entertainment is on another level. Jazz night Tuesdays are fantastic and I heard the standup comedy on Monday is really great too.
Intimate place to see some of the most original music in Portland on a nightly basis. Bring cash as the performances are all "pay what you can" and they pass the basket - the shows are always worth anything you can spend though. Probably the best place in Portland to just pop in to hear music if you're not looking to catch a specific show (though you can do that too).
Small intimate blues bar no cover charge!
Stumbled into this cool little spot while visiting Portland some friends. It was five of us and they quickly accommodated us. What I loved most is that there was no cover charge. We ordered a few beers and some food and enjoyed the night watching some locals kill the stage.
They do pass around a little basket for donations. You don’t have to give anything but it’s definitely greatly appreciated by the musicians.
They have different people playing each time so it’s pretty cool! Definitely worth stopping by here if you’re in the area.
Friendly ambiance. Vegan and vegetarian options available!
