Jack Russell’s Steakhouse and Brewery

Having a decent server can make/brake a restaurant meal. If you go, ask for another server than Michelle. She was inattentive & acted like we were a major inconvenience to her time away from her friends at the bar & her cell phone. Food is good. Appetizers run $8-40, burger $15 & up, entrees $30 & up. Baked seafood pletter had plenty of seafood along with potatoes & asparagus. Aside from the lousy service, a nice place to go for a meal & a drink.

I was here on vacation and met a local couple in downtown Bar Harbor and I asked them what their favorite restaurants were. Jack Russell’s was one of three of their favorites. It is not a fancy restaurant, but it was a great meal. After a week in Bar Harbor, this was my favorite dinner. I had the surf and turf, lazy style, with local blueberry ale and blueberry cobbler dessert. Everything was perfect!

Renting a house in area nearby. Had some people and dogs there. So we got takeout. Great New York Strip. Delicious onion rings. Nice thin cut fries. Totally satisfying.

My friend and I went for early dinner. I like the surf and turf. However, My steak was unevenly cooked. I think the cook forgot to cover the steak to allow even cooking when someone wants medium well. Part of it was shoe leather while the other part was bloody. I have eaten here before with a mouth watering experience. I guess it was either an off day for the cook or first season of cooking. My friends meal was cold...probably waiting for mine to cook. The staff is very friendly and polite. I will try it again this winter.
