Portion sizes were huge and then Marla brought the banana split that was enough for 3 people! “YES. YES. YES! Holy moly, loved the friendly, just-right service and can highly recommend the fried scallops. Look at how huge these are! EIGHT! And cooked just to Perfection. I ate half and have been snacking from the go-box - heck, even cold, they're great. Fries were hot, Cole Slaw tasty. I only used lemon - the scallops were so lightly sweet, no sauce was needed. A great experience, highly recommended. CLEAN. It's obvious that owners or managers always oversee everything. My only negative was the 'House Merlot' that I requested. I should've asked for a brand. Tasted ... 3rd squeeze ... not tasty. GO. ENJOY! Next time, I'll try the Lobster Roll.”

“Greetings locals, travelers and in betweeners! This diner by appearance may seem worn and torn from the outside, certainly the diner experience from the inside, albeit a bit rustic. It’s quite a local experience and if you’ve been here long you know that means charming and friendly. To our surprise (we ordered from the specials, which was a good variety), the food was obvious homemade and very good. Home fries were texture heaven, biscuits and gravy were just right, quiche was outstanding. I doubt you’re going to find a better overall diner and breakfast experience around town. The service was incredibly fast! I am glad o stopped by and very satisfied. Wishing the staff and establishment many years of good business and health. Thanks.”

“Pizza is very good. Fast service. Pleasant staff. Restaurant is clean. Nice AC keeping it cool in the summer. Location allows for a lot of parking close to the restaurant. It also is in a place that is easy to get in and out of because it is just out off the main streets enough not to have as much traffic to deal with when turning in or leaving. They have some really good deals on their daily and weekly specials so pay attention to those. The menu has a lot more than pizza on it. You can get a burger or a wrap and much more.”

“Several years ago, my daughter, wife and I found ourselves hungry and in some town called Ellsworth, ME, while on our way to Acadia. I immediately pointed to the Riverside Cafe. Neither my wife nor daughter were immediately attracted and suggested a Mediterranean restaurant. I said the Riverside looks like it's where the locals eat. Let's go! We all greatly enjoyed our food. Best blueberry pancakes I've ever had! My wife and I visited Maine again last year, and guess where we had breakfast? You guessed it! And after seven years of me mentioning the Riverside blueberry pancakes to my wife, she had to order them as well. Our server was friendly, and service was prompt. My only regret is that I only ate one meal each time I was there. The menu looks great, and I must confess that I found myself surveying other people's plates-- you gotta try this place! Thanks to the Riverside Cafe, Ellsworth Maine is on my map. Nice little town I may add.”

The lobster dinner was delicious, and the blueberry pie was as delicious as everyone will no doubt tell you it is! Save room and have the pie!!!! Was one of my favorite meals during my trip; simple and heavenly!”
