Great scenery! Portion sizes are moderate. Taste was fine comparable to most other similar restaurant. Menu prices on the high side. The garlic butter fries were amazing! Service was standard.
We’ve been visiting Abel’s since the late 1970s, and had dinner there on Wednesday night. What can I say? The view is fantastic. Advice: sit outside if it’s not too chilly or rainy, and make a reservation — you’ll get a table closer to the water’s edge. The food is as good as ever. We had steamers and lobster dinners. Somehow the seafood at Abel’s is sweeter and better than other lobster pounds in the area. Delicious is an understatement. And their blueberry pie was excellent. Service was great (a bit slow due to their being short-handed, but we actually liked the slower pace). We’ll definitely return (again and again!).
According to my family - lobsters were very good. I got the fettuccine alfredo, which was also very good. However, it was 31 dollars (12 added due to chicken) for a portion that didn't seem deserving of such a high price. Lobsters were at market price. If you're willing to spend extra for non- lobster items, or are just ordering lobster, this place is recommended. Staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was great.
Just here to agree with other posts. Really good clam chowder and lobster bisque, but $16 for a 12 oz bowl is high, too high. My daughter ordered a Caesar Salad and when we got the bill had to ask if they served a side salad instead! My wife had the lobster dinner and thought the quality was good, price in line with other places. That being said had some local draft beer that was very good and less than pours at the brewery! Dropped In because I had kayaked in and had seen that the floating dock in the harbor was covered in seals! So the setting is first rate. Service was very good. So quality 5 star, value 3 star.
