“My friends and I were passing through this awesome little town on our way to Acadia from Philadelphia. We stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant! Our food was delicious! We had BLTs and the super food salad. The bread of the BLT was really really good and the dressing on the salad was amazing! Sitting by the river while we ate was so peaceful and relaxing! The service was great! The owners are really nice and hospitable! Inside they have a cute shop with local products that we really enjoyed as well! It a great find! Fantastic experience! We would definitely recommend! If we pass through town again on our way back home, we will definitely be back!”

“Excellent restaurant! People need to understand before bashing a place because of short staff that they are doing an superb job. It's certainly not the restaurants fault that people don't want to work. Kudos to every employee who works at Bruno's in Hallowell. You guy's are amazing! The food is awesome! Lucky Garden

Address: 218 Water St, Hallowell, ME 04347, USA

Restaurant

“Stopped in by boat for a cocktail, pretty interesting decor for an asian restaurant in an old historic mill building. The place looks like an old barn with post and beam, and is actually leaning. But hey, it’s 100 years old and still standing so they did something right all those years ago! Cool vines growing inside that must of taken years to weave around the walls. Will be back next time I come through!”

Joyce's

“This place is AWESOME. Aside from the food being creative, locally sourced and delicious, the owner is amazing and is super supportive of local artists. A loving and fully welcoming staff represents the best there is in Maine. They truly welcome everyone, are known for their extremely accepting views of all people and make everyone feel like right at home. If you are coming to Central Maine, Slates is a must.”

Juiced.

Address: 130 Water St, Hallowell, ME 04347, USA

Restaurant

“Cute little juice bar cafe, very clean and organized. It seems like their target market is families and small groups but there isn't very much space in there to sit as a group. Only one all section of comfy chairs. We went with our two small children and had to sit at a high seated table (like the ones up on stilts) balancing a 2 year old and a 5 year old until the family group that was at the comfy chairs left. The drinks were very good and I would recommend. The wraps were overstuffed with kale and it was way too much for me and my husband.”

Russell provided excellent service and made the experience that much more enjoyable! Definitely give this place a try when you’re in town.”

Bolley's Famous Franks

Meal takeaway Restaurant

“Great locals diner style eatery. Order at the counter & sit at a table inside or the picnic bench outside. Hot dogs, seafood, breakfast & danish.”

Desi Kitchen

Address: 103 Water St, Hallowell, ME 04347, USA

Restaurant

“Extraordinarily flavorsome dishes! Desi Kitchen claims to offer both Pakistani and Indian food but the menu didn’t differentiate between the two on the menu. No matter. The food was exceptional and thoughtfully prepared to our cowardly spice level. Their okra masala was scrumptious but then the entire meal qualifies as quite possibly the best Indian food we’ve ever had. Worth the trip to Hallowell just for this!”

Ground Round Sports Grille

Address: 215 Whitten Rd, Hallowell, ME 04347, USA

Restaurant

“The family and I came for some rainy day bumper bowling! Bowling was great fun for our 3 and 6 year olds. The wife and I had a couple of XL frosty mugs which hit the spot and the chicken plate was great. Pizza was, well, not their specialty but passed the kid test. All in all great fun and we will be back!”
