River Driver's Restaurant & Pub

Go to this place for the incredible views. Food was good - standard - and they were accommodating of my gluten allergy. They had gluten free buns if you wanted them. The Caesar salad was good, the blackened salmon sandwich was good, the queso for the nachos was amazing. Even better, the sunset views.

The smash burger was honestly the best burger I’ve ever had. We also got the seasonal fiddlehead soup which was delicious. Great view of the lake and garden if you sit outside. 10/10

We spent 8 days in MAINE. First 3 in Bar Harbor. The rest at Baxter. This restaurant was the best food of our whole trip ! Hand down! We went two nights in a row. We enjoyed every morsel. The service was great and the local staff were so kind and welcoming. They chatted with us about our climb on the mountain. We felt like we belonged there. Was such an awesome experience ! Highly recommend it !

This place is tucked in the woods and you have to drive some gravel roads to get there but it is well worth it. Best food in town. The food was great (fish stew and a burger), atmosphere was woods and rustic, and the staff was nice. Due to covid we were basically the only ones in there and it was super awesome. Great place!
