Nice simple place with great food and friendly staff. Braised Beef(brisket) Mac n Cheese ..or Maine Lobster Mac n Cheese. You won't be disappointed!
Went to The Cheesy Skillet in Topsham today for a burger (there’s a gluten free option! Hooray!) for lunch and the dude behind the counter actually, genuinely SMILED AT ME and acted like he was glad I was there. In response to this welcome surprise, I smiled right back and tipped well.
Cheesy Skillet, hear my cry: NEVER GET RID OF THAT EMPLOYEE. Reward him handsomely! Forgive his transgressions, even if they be many! Hire more like him! Build your entire culture around him! MAKE HIM THE OWNER OF THE COMPANY! Well, that might be a bit much, but that little, now-forgotten gesture in our region makes all the difference.
And the food, by the way, is as affordable as it is tasty. Awesome job all around.
Comfort food to the maximum. I can't wait to go back.
Je aime le fromage!!
Let's answer the burning question right off...Should I really pay $9 for a grilled cheese sandwich? And the answer is YES! This ain't not slice of yellow American Cheese slapped in between 2 slices of Wonder Bread and tossed in the frying pan.
You're "Clasic" grilled cheese is made with generous portions of 2 cheeses (I believe cheddar and munster) and ooses from the sandwich when it is cut.
Your sandwich also comes with a side of tater-totts and melted cheese for dipping.
I also ordered a "small" pretzel with cheese. This was your standard sized soft pretzel. Light and soft on the inside and just the right amount of crisp on the outside.
But that's not all there is to have. Smash burgers, lobster rolls, grilled cheese stuffed with Mac and cheese, just to name a few. And then there's the Mac and Cheese bowls themselves, plain, with different meats and more!
Disregard what the one naysayer says (their own fault for not bringing it to the attention of the staff).
This is the place to indulge your cheese craving.
They also have gluten free options.
Oh, and I couldn't even finish what I ordered, all for under $20 with a drink and tip!
