I drove over 1000 miles (no joke) to get there. It was well worth it. If you haven't had Maine Lobster in Maine I would strongly suggest this place. A couple of caveats. Bring your own cracker and shrimp fork. These guys provide plastic forks and styrofoam trays. It goes with the ambiance of the place. Going to Young's Lobster Pound was an experience in itself. Fresh Lobsters range for 1 lbs to 4.5 lbs. While I was there I saw lobsters coming off the boat. I went in the end of the season so I was lucky to find a seat. During the summer its packed. If your are in the vicinity of Belfast Maine stop by there you will not regret it.
Awesome quality and very professional and friendly staff. They have the process down to a science. They give you an order number after you order, food is cooked fresh, ready in about 15 minutes. In the meantime, you can enjoy the beautiful view of the harbor, and watch a lobster boat dock and get unloaded by staff members. Very nice!
Real Maine seafood experience. You order at the counter, pretty no frills operation. You can pick up chips or soda, but you can also bring your own alcohol, since it can't be bought on premises.
My husband and I shared a $30 lobster dinner that consisted of two fresh 1 1/4 pound lobsters and chips. It's BYOB, so we stopped at Vinolio's in town (highly recommend) for a bottle of wine beforehand. So for $40 we had a million dollar view, two fabulous lobsters, and a great wine. You just can't beat that! Local flavor, down home, expertly prepared, fresh off the boat.
If you are within 50 miles of this place you have to stop. It is BYOB, so arrive prepared. Fantastic atmosphere in the rough. Great prices for the quantity and quality of the food. It can be a little intimidating at first, but you will get the hang of it. Eat inside of out, there is plenty of places to eat.
