Knowing I love seafood, a friend made reservations for us to celebrate my birthday at Huot's. One word sums it up, amazing! The food, amazing. The service, amazing. The atmosphere, amazing. The charm, amazing. Value for the money, amazing. Even the portion sizes considering I , gulp, ordered from the senior citizens menu was, yep, amazing. My one regret, it was my first visit. Of this you can be sure, it WILL NOT be my last.
A tad disappointed as I had heard this place was out of this world. I the lobster roll and it wasn’t as flavorful nor was there a lot of meat compared to other places for the $23 price in the area. My husband had a salad with lobster but again don’t think it was $30 worth. Also I believe I paid $5 for a children’s apple juice....
However, their staff is very nice and quick. Clean and cozy atmosphere and big parking.
Best lobster dinner I’ve ever had. Great service. We enjoyed waiting at the bar for our table to be ready. All the staff was friendly. Great selection of local beer and wine. I’d suggest ordering the clam cake dinner or the lobster dinner - both were amazing.
I was pretty disappointed. I hadn't been here in a couple of years and had remembered it being quite good.
Maybe I was there on an off day or something but the food didn't live up to expectations. I won't be rushing back as there are many other places that are consistently good.
The service was good and the prices were reasonable the location was nice and parking was convenient.
One of my family's traditions of for many many years. It's a real family operation which is supported by generations of people who appreciate good food, quick service, and a pleasant atmosphere. It's also reasonably priced.
Quick tip: they tend to jam up for evening meals, especially on weekends. Check the website for the details but they will take reservations for groups of a certain size. And groups between 4 and 1 person can call and ask their name be placed on the waiting list up to an hour ahead. since the wait time is usually about an hour when it's very busy that's a great deal.
Try the haddock Stew. It's one of their specialties. I'm like most of the clam chowder you get these days, the halibut stew has a lite milk base which allows the delicate flavor of the fish to come through.
Their fried clams are delicious. They come with tasty french fries and fresh coleslaw. If you have room, the homemade chocolate cream pie is a great finish for the evening.
There are two different parking lots of for this restaurant. One is out in front of the front door but the other is up the street to the left. If all else fails you can park in the lot near the water but that will cost you.
