Hangry Joe's Hot Chicken

I am already thinking about the next time I can go here again. Really tender, spicy fried chicken. Crisp, hot fries. Large portions and an excellent homemade sauce comes with your meal as well. The service was fast and considerate. I can’t wait to go back for another sandwich and to try more things on the menu. Definitely going to become an instant favorite. So happy to have this place in Annapolis.

I saw this place advertised on Instagram and it caught my eye. I went into their new Annapolis location and it was dead in there- as far as guests sitting and eating. My boyfriend and I both ordered the classic chicken sandwich with waffle fries. One was ordered mild and the other was ordered “just seasoning”. All the food was delicious! And I thought the heat of the sandwiches was as advertised. The “only seasoning” wasn’t spicy and the mild was just a little spicy. I also got a bubble tea 🧋 and it was perfect. I highly recommend this place and hope it sees more and more customers every day. I thought it was a little pricey but the portions were huge and I couldn’t finish all of mine. ( I think things are just pricey these days)
All and all it really was great.

Chicken is delicious…HEED the spicy chart! I chose mild thinking it would be fine. MILD was still too hot for a pedestrian hot chicken fan like myself. That night I was visited by 3 ghosts. They all took turns making fun of me for underestimating the spiciness.

Kidding aside, I asked a guy who works there how often people come to him after taking a bite and say “I made a mistake.”

He simply replied “A lot.”

I was very pleased with the food here. I got mild, and it was a little spicy for my palette. But I honestly enjoyed the food. The spice was good with mild, not overly spicy but enjoyable. I will be coming back to try other things. I only took 1 star off because the service was a little on the slower side. And also because I didn't care for the waffle fries. They were overly crispy and didn't have much flavor, in my opinion. I didn't try the bubble tea, but I was hearing good things about it. The next time I go, I will try it.
My son got the Korean Nuggets with the sauce on the side, and those were pretty good! I loved the sauce.
The manager and staff are super nice and welcoming! They were super helpful with getting us a table and getting us situated.

SO SO SO DELICIOUS!!!! Definitely right up there with some of the best hot chicken I have ever tasted. The hot level is perfection, its wonderful to finally have a proper hot chicken establishment in Annapolis. Would rate 9.5 out of ten (deduct .5 a point due to the fact that they don't have fresh ranch dressing). Husband and I will 100% be coming to get our hot chicken fix every Sunday. This place knocks it out of the park with the right spice level.
