I took my mother out to lunch and we both enjoyed our meals very much. She had to get a take home box but I'm a big boy and I cleaned my plate. I've been there many times and I've always enjoyed the food. Our server was great and we left the restaurant pleased with our choices. The crab cakes are great, the ribs are really good and the sides are pretty special too. It's not a flashy place... but you can't eat flashy, can ya?

Got there just before 5 on Friday. Found a parking spot easily & close to entry. 3 large TVs in viewing are if our booth. Pretty good crowd w/most tables taken. Our waitress Erin was excellent w/good wit & fun. We got ribs, crab cake & a pot roast dinner. Crab cake was a bit disappointing as it had more filler than anticipated. My friend had bowel of MD crab soup which as good but not much crab meat. No other appetizers. Full rack of Baby Back Ribs were very good but a bit thin & more bone than meat, but very good. Pot roast was very good (home made). Bare bones entries are at least $20 w/1 side. A few dollars more for 2 sides. No reported Happy Hour. A bit more than we had hoped to spend $83 + tip for 3 of us (I had water but my wife and friend had a total of 3 regular draft beers 1 Miller lite & 2 Yinglings). The waitress was really good & made our time there more fun. I would rate 7.5 out of 10 on this visit, but I understand is normally viewed better. There were +/-8 people waiting in line to get in when we had left.

I had the shrimp salad sandwich and it was the best that I have had in a long while. Not too spicy. My friends had ribs and a Memphis burger. The desserts were delicious. Our table had a variety of desserts. Bread pudding, an ice cream sundae and the fabulous chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream. Our server Ryan was great and very attentive.

This place has a great character of a well established place like an old comfortable jacket. And the food is excellent! I found the crab cake as good as the best in the area. And the ribs were in a class of their own. If you like ribs that are tender but not falling apart that can be easily eaten with a fork or your fingers, give them a try. I was pleased that these ribs were lean and no waste. You didn't have to fight with them. They had a great selection of beers as well with something for every taste, many of which were local Maryland beers. This could become a go-to place when I am in the area.
