I didn't have a great experience at Mi & Yu (in Fed Hill) and decided to give it another shot, at the Mt. Vernon location. I ordered the curry shrimp in spicy miso broth, with ramen noodles ($14.50). First, the positive: the shrimp was delicious. Perfectly seasoned and not overcooked. I left some in the broth too long, and they became soggy- I recommend getting them on the side. As for the rest of the ramen experience, very underwhelming. The broth seemed watered down, had to add Sriracha sauce for some umph. The ramen was overcooked (little to no bite). The eggs were hard boiled (no gooey core). I will probably pass on this place in the future.
The most amazing ramen bowl, I ever had. The options for the building your own bowl are all delicious and cooked to perfection. A must try.
I like the idea of being able to customize your order at this restaurant. I tried their Spicy Chicken Miso Ramen to go. It was not bad at all. My experience with the staff was great. They were friendly and very attentive. I will visit again to try something else.
Picture is of a regular order of ramen and a side of extra noodles. Great and swift food. They clearly get lots of request for extra noodles for kids becuase they were on it! Broth is just what is needed in this cold weather. I heart the non-spicy duck broth with crispy duck.
