Golf Lesson from Instructor Jim Smithburger

I recently had my first one-hour lesson with Jim, and I must say, the results were beyond impressive. Prior to the lesson, I struggled with my short irons, often falling short of my desired distance and accuracy. However, after just one session with Jim, I noticed a remarkable improvement.

Thanks to Jim's guidance and expertise, I found myself hitting my short irons an additional 20 to 25 yards further than before. Not only that, but the percentage of good shots soared from a mere 40% to almost 75%. The difference was truly astounding.

Jim's teaching style is clear, concise, and tailored to the individual needs of his students. He has a keen eye for detail and knows exactly how to pinpoint areas for improvement. His patience and encouragement throughout the lesson were greatly appreciated, making the learning experience enjoyable and rewarding.

I cannot recommend Jim highly enough to anyone looking to enhance their golf game. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned player, Jim's expertise will undoubtedly take your skills to the next level. I'm already looking forward to my next lesson with him.

Fantastic staff at both pro shop and bar. Course is in great shape and the layout is enjoyable but tests your game. I play here every time I come thru the area. Starter does not push groups to tee box. Watched as a group chose to linger at putting green while several groups waited. He said nothing. Then that same group played excessively slow and no marshal would come out. Round lasted almost 6 hours.

My husband recently decided it’s time he learned to play golf. It is a sport you can play your whole life, after all. So he contacted Jim Smithburger at The Links at Challedon for some lessons. I have been having so much fun. Jim is personable, knows the game, and a great instructor for all ages and experience levels. We brought our 8 and 9 year old to learn as well, and I don’t know who is having more fun!? We plan on continuing our lessons through the summer.

27Feb2024 - was in town for business and had time to get in some golf. Very happy I found the Links at Challedon! Hadn't touch a club since Oct2023 so I wasn't expecting much. TLC is a fun course to play. Nice mix of challenging and easy holes. You need to golf you ball here boys to score. The Greens are what stand out. Granted, coming out of winter hibernation there hasn't been any growth, but the greens were devilishly fast for some pin placements. They rolled true and pretty smooth. I couldn't find a single ball mark to fix the entire round. This would be my regular course if I lived down here or certainly established in the rota.
