Looking for Authentic Street food of Japan?
Come here. We went during their soft opening and between the staff, atmosphere and food? I will be coming here with my daughter and family as often as we can!
To start, I have to admit I am biased because I love tapas-style, small plate restaurants. This place did not disappoint. Because of the tapas-style, we were able to try 7 different dishes and every single one was phenomenal. Beautifully crafted, balanced, and so satisfying. You can tell the chef puts so much effort into each bite. The sushi was fresh and tasty, the fried rice was authentic, the salads were filling (an oxymoron I know but this place did it). The menu is limited during this soft-launch, but you hardly notice because the selection so far is varied and unique. To add, not only is the food fantastic, the staff is so lovely and friendly. And the place is beautifully decorated. I hope these spread across the state. Can’t wait to go back for more, I am telling all my friends and family about this place.
Nice atmosphere (the booths were nice). The tiny plate concept is different.
The Yakitori was good, lightly marinated/glaze, reminiscent of my childhood in Japan. The gyoza were, by far, the best I've had in this area. I'm still not convinced of the fried rice, a bit heavy on the yakisoba sauce in the fried rice (that's what it tasted like), it did have a nice combo of veggies.
I'll have to try the soba and sushi next time (and more gyoza!).
Because this a soft open, i will give an honest review of this resteraunt and not be too harsh. I am so excited about the grand opening. The food was amazing. The decor was incredible. This place is beautiful! The only thing that has me worried, and which they are trying to perfect..is the $6.88 portion for every thing ordered. They still need to perfect this with the beef tenderloine and shrimp. But the fried rice was unreal. I am rooting for this place, and i will absolutely be back. Also, the Kani salad, dont sleep on it. The staff was incredible. We need to let them figure this 6.88 concept out, then the sky is the limit.
This new restuarant in Westminster, found in the Shoppers/Big Lots Plaza, is worth a try. The staff members are kind and courteous. The atmosphere is casual, friendly, and inviting. The dishes were described by our server as "japanese street style". Each menu item is $6.88 and a tapas sized portion. We tried the brussels sprouts appetizer, the udon soup, spicy salmon sushi roll, and the beef skirt & shrimp skewers. We enjoyed everything. Check them out!
