We traveled from Northern VA for lunch not knowing what to expect. It felt like walking into an art museum with beautiful floral decorations. The food was Art! The Tapas were awesome as well as the lunch entrees. Next time we need to check out the dinner menu. This is a must place to visit. And also it’s surprisingly affordable.

Bloom Asian Haus is beautiful. The atmosphere is stunning, with flowing flowers, and a very Zen vibe. The service was excellent, as we were seated and greeted immediately. The menu is not expansive, with inspiration from many Asian cultures. We started out with some beautiful dumplings shaped like purple flowers. For our entrees we had a noodle dish, which came with broth on the side, and Salt & Pepper prawns (shrimp). Both dishes had gorgeous presentations, but we agreed that neither were seasoned very well, and the shrimp definitely needed some sort of sauce to accompany them. I think Bloom is a very nice place if you're looking for a romantic atmosphere. This was my date's second visit, she said the food was slightly better her first visit, so I think another trip is in the cards.

Overall had a great first experience here. I ordered 2 different types of dumplings and both were pretty good, I particularly enjoyed the Sichuan Dumplings. Nice beer selection and the decor was interesting and well thought out. My wife ordered the chicken sandwich which was tasty. I loved the Japanese sweet potato fries but wish they were served with a sauce. Service was a little slow but they just opened so no big deal. Also wish they would of had a bar tender there for brunch.

Had an excellent meal here on first Saturday. Got a table within 2 mins of walking in. Service was quick and efficient even though they were packed. Decor was super cool, even if there was a lot of it. The dumplings and appetizers really were delicious and impressive, my favorite being the Har Gow shrimp dumplings, and the squid leg kaarage.

Our waitress was diligent and quite well versed in the menu, I really appreciated her professionalism. Bloom has a really pretty albeit small bar, with one of the better mixologists I’ve encountered in Frederick, Jeffery or Geoffrey (sorry I didn’t ask for the spelling). The cocktails he made for the table were a “Sake-tini” and his own creation called a Hemlock, they were delicious, delicate, and pretty.

We will definitely be back again soon!

Bloom just opened on the corner of N Market and 3rd in downtown Frederick and, while I was expecting some opening hiccups, none occurred and we had a great meal. We were seated right away and were given menus and water. The decor is definitely quirky, with lots and lots of artificial flowers and interesting art pieces, but there is enough negative space that it wasn't overwhelming.

We ordered hot tea, chamomile and chrysanthemum, and they arrived in unique and colorful tea pot sets (the servers were very attentive about getting us additional hot water, which I really appreciated).

We had a mixed small plate meal from the menu - Sichuan Dumpling, Prawn with Walnut, Pork Bao, and the Tuna Salad. Everything was plated beautifully, was very flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The tables didn't have salt and pepper on them, but we found the seasoning was great with every plate, so the s&p wasn't needed.

Since everything was so good, we just had to try dessert and again, we weren't disappointed. The cheesecake with mango and the crepe cake with matcha ice cream (I believe I have that right, I can't remember the exact menu description) were GREAT endings to the meal. Neither was overly sweet or heavy, and the crepe cake was just barely sweet (This is something that others may not like but we found it just perfect).

The servers were great about being very attentive both concerning the food and the atmosphere. We were seated by a speaker and when we came in it was playing jazz that perfectly drowned out the conversation of the people at the table right next to us while still allowing us to have our conversation. A little bit later the music variety changed and they asked if they should turn the speaker down for us, which we agreed was a good idea. Again, the volume was at a level where we weren't inundated with everybody else's conversations in the restaurant. I think all of the flowers hanging from the ceiling really helps with the acoustics.

Overall, we had a great time at Bloom and highly suggest it for anyone wanting a lovely meal downtown!
